Dental Internship Stories: Part 1

This is the first post of my Dental Internship Stories series, where I recount all the events that I found memorable while interning at two dental offices.

Today was the start of my second week interning at my dad's dental office, and it was busier than before. First off, the front-desk receptionist was out sick today, so my siblings and I were left on our own. It wasn't too bad, but it wasn't the best. I had to do a lot more phone calls, and let's just say I'm probably the most monotone caller of all time. It got so bad that even my dad made a comment about my calls. Oh well, I can't be great at everything, right?

Also, I started cleaning the chairs and putting on the blue tape that goes on those chairs (I actually did one chair, but I still learned something from it). But I made a mistake, as usual, this time forgetting to fold the ends of the tape before applying it. This caused the tape to stick to itself, which gave the workers a hard time trying to take them off after they were done with a patient. At least I learned how to do it right afterward so next time I don't mess up.

Other than those two bad parts of my day, I would say that the rest of the day went pretty well. I started my summer reading book, stamped the cleaning packets, and scheduled the appointments with little to no trouble, and I even got several more insurance companies to reply for our research project. You could say that the day wasn't the best, but I found ways to enjoy it anyways regardless of the negative circumstances that occurred today.
