Sorry for being a day late on this post. Just had other things going on, so now I'm a day late. Either way, yesterday was the OFFICIAL end of calling the dental offices! That felt really good, ending over a month long process. But as the post description says, we had to work on the next stage, the data analysis. Honestly, I don't think it is as hard as the data collecting, and I don't think it will take as long. Yesterday, the three of us started making tables and graphs, and we have a rough guess on what our conclusion is going to be. The data seems to be pointing in the same general direction which is good.
Now with this decreased workload, I have to get back doing more things in the dental offices. While I was researching, I was almost exclusively working on the project and helped a little in the front desk. Now I need to go back to cleaning the chairs and maybe even start shadowing the dentists. That would be much better than calling all those offices. Looking back at the data collection process, I think I've called over 200, maybe even 300, offices. It's insane. And through doing so, I think I've developed my skills on how to call, to break out of my timid nature and be able to socialize to a better degree. A lot of things I'm doing at the dental offices seem to help me get out of my comfort zone, and I believe that this internship/research journey is teaching me a lot of valuable lessons.
