I just got my new earbuds, the all new Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2, potentially the last earbuds Jabra will produce. What follows is my first impressions of these new earbuds that I just got a few hours ago. Just to clarify, I am no audiophile, so my review is nowhere as good as others. Either way, hope you enjoy my personal take on these earbuds!

The first thing I noticed about the buds was obviously the fit. Previously using the Sony Linkbuds S, one of the most comfortable earbuds on the market, I didn't expect for these buds to fit perfectly like my previous pair did. But after trying them on, I quickly noticed how these buds didn't fit my ears that great, even causing minor pain in some areas. Either way, I decided to continue onto the sound, and they were amazing! The Jabras were noticeably better at projecting the background noises and high notes than the Sony Linkbuds, which helped elevate the music I listened to. I would say that the Sonys were more focused on bass while these buds focused more the on the mid to treble.

Other than the fit and sound, I loved the multipoint connectivity. It wasn't as seamless as I thought it would be, as it required a little waiting time before switching to different devices. But at least it had multipoint, right? Also, the app was super intuitive and easy to control. I found the Sony app to be good, but the Jabra app was superior in ease of use and understandability (if that even is a word). The Sony app had some confusing aspects in it, and some functions were harder to find.

As for the noise cancellation and transparency modes, I think it had mixed results. I almost never used the noise cancellation on the Sonys, so I didn't really know how to compare the Jabras to the Sonys. But the noise cancellation was very good; when my brother tried speaking to me, I couldn't even hear him at all when listening to music. The transparency mode, however, is something that I used a lot with the Sonys. So when I listened through the Jabra's transparency mode for the first time, I was little disappointed in them. I felt I could hear outside noise better with the Sony Linkbuds S, which is what I prefer. Oh well, the buds can't be perfect, can it?

One thing that the Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 and the Sony Linkbuds S were similar in was their touch controls. I really liked the Sony touch controls, as they were very easy. Gladly, the default Jabra controls were very similar, if not exactly the same.

Now, it's near the end of the day, and I've worn these buds for multiple hours, including in a workout session. The buds still hurt my ears a little, but only when you press on the buds and not when they are just sitting in my ears. The buds stay in my ear very well though, so the pain is bearable.

So what do I think of these buds? It's a great lightweight option with great sound and ease of use (including controls, connectivity, etc.). I wish the shape of the buds fit my ear shape better, but I'm hoping that the pain goes away. Not every bud can fit in my ear like the Sony Linkbuds S right out of the box. I'll just have to give it some time and see how my ears handle these buds. They sure enjoy the sound though! Overall, I would still say that the Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2 was an upgrade from the Sony Linkbuds S, which is expected when you look at the price difference. In my opinion, great buy for the money!
